Here’s one I particularly enjoyed writing. Crown Paints Ireland were looking to seriously revamp their brochure. The approach taken by TBWA/Brussels was to show the human side of painting – how enjoyable it can be and the incredible difference a good coat of paint can make. As I worked as a painter for a year a long time ago, it was a way of going back to my roots, in a way (or at least re-visiting something I enjoyed doing). The Crown Paints brochure also gave me an opportunity to continue an old battle of mine: War on White. Is there a more bland and weak-willed choice of colour than white? The art direction, photography and production on this one are top-class. Congrats to TBWA/Brussels and Crown Paints. Click through for one of the inside pages.

“Content” is the new buzzword, as we don’t really have that many ways of describing music, images, games, ringtones, TV shows, films and stock market information or restaurant reviews in one word (“entertainment” doesn’t count). Increasingly, the TV trade fair MIPTV has become interesting not just for producers and broadcasters, it also enables the mobile sector, brands and social networks to hatch up plans for new revenue streams together. So MIPTV this year went under the headline of “Capture content”, developed by The Write Stuff and Consorcom. We developed the concepts, brochure and print ads.
If you have the right qualifications, it’s an exciting time to be in Europe. Careers in Europe.com is an innovative twice-yearly event that enables the right candidates and companies to meet by effectively pre-screening the candidates. Companies get to meet a lot more of the right sort of graduate or early career professionals, whereas the candidates get face-to-face with the companies that are recruiting for international positions across Europe. The next event is in Berlin in May.
The Write Stuff provided the copywriting for a brochure and the site for Systole in Brussels. Now, if I could only find some qualifications, I could get a real job.

After celebrating its 40th anniversary last year (with a campaign that won an award within the Reed Midem group), the music trade fair Midem started a new decade with another good year. Attendance figures were up despite a very difficult business environment.
The Write Stuff again provided the copywriting for the brochures and print ads on the theme, “I’ve Got the Music in Me – Come to the Source”. Agency: Consorcom.

For its 40th anniversary, we and agency Consorcom again provided copy and concepts for the glittering Midem trade fair in Cannes. Next stop: MIPTV in April.
Mipcom 2005: “The future is bright when you make the right choices”. The choices businesses are making now will have enormous effect over the coming years. This is particularly true in the audiovisual and entertainment sectors, where whole new revenue sources and opportunities are changing the way people enjoy audiovisuals and subsequently the way business is developed.
